Dental Exams & Cleanings
Visiting the dentist routinely for cleanings and examinations is a smart step towards a healthier smile. Even if great care is taken in brushing and flossing teeth each day, spots might be missed, or other conditions may arise. With a visit to our dental team at Living Wellness Dental at minimum every six months, clients in the Calgary, AB area can enjoy quality care and timely intervention against infection and deterioration.
What services are available during cleanings and examinations?
Our dentists are available to help with a range of treatments and cleanings tailored to their client’s needs. Below are a few examples:
- Deep teeth cleaning – every client who visits for a routine evaluation will receive deep teeth cleaning from one of our oral hygienists. This service removes plaque and tartar from the teeth and gum surfaces and helps freshen breath.
- Root planing and teeth scaling – those suffering from periodontal disease may need a different type of cleaning, generally referred to as scaling and root planing. This is a deeper cleaning that cleans the roots of the teeth underneath the gum line. It can also remove plaque, tartar, and calculus from tooth surfaces.
- Gum cleaning – the gums are also cleaned with specialized tools to reduce irritation and ensure optimal health.
- Oral flush – effective at flushing out bacteria, plaque, and other toxins in the mouth.
- Hydroxyapatite varnish – for remineralization.
Any issues that are spotted during dental cleanings are relayed to a Living Wellness Dentist who can further evaluate the concern and provide a definitive diagnosis and offer empowering effective solutions.
