What are the benefits of Dental X-Rays?
X-rays are a safe, non-invasive and painless technology used to enhance trained professionals’ ability to diagnose structural deterioration or irregularities that may be invisible to the naked eye. There is extensive information available on x-ray safety. The amount of radiation exposure of a traditional dental x-ray is less than the average human would expect to be exposed to by nature in a typical day. Routine x-rays are used to monitor treatment progression, procedural success or exacerbation of oral issues and are a valuable part of a client’s road to achieving oral health and wellness. There are several advantages to dental x-rays:
- Dental x-rays allow the dentist to see into the tooth, bone, and gums beyond what is physically seen
- Dental x-rays offer a method of diagnosing common dental problems early on to avoid progression
- Dental x-rays produce a safe amount of radiation to complete, though a protective apron is provided for further protection
- Dental x-rays allow a visual for a client to see more than just surficial properties of their smiles
- Dental x-rays are affordable
- Dental x-rays increase the likelihood of achieving a proper diagnosis
