Dental Practice Provides Crowns, Bridges, and Dental Crown Restoration In Calgary

Loss of your teeth, or broken or decaying teeth, can have a profound impact on your self-image and confidence. There are several risk factors for tooth loss due to gum disease, such as age and gender, the lack or avoidance of professional dental care, an insufficient at-home oral hygiene plan, tobacco use and smoking, and certain health conditions including high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes. Accidents and injuries may also account for broken or chipped teeth.

Whatever the cause of tooth loss or decay, your willingness to smile can diminish and eating and speaking can be hampered. There is hope, however, as today’s dental restorations can help you to achieve a full, natural-looking smile and restore healthy mouth functions.

Two of those options include dental crown and bridges. At Living Wellness Dental, serving patients in Calgary, Alberta, Canmore, Red Deer, Airdrie, and surrounding Canada communities, we believe that optimal oral health is a critical element to living well. Embracing a biological and holistic approach to dentistry and whole body health, which focus on each patient individually for customized treatment using only the safest materials, Drs. DeSanti and Redd can have you smiling brightly again.

Dental Crowns

Also referred to as caps, dental crowns are essentially artificial teeth restorations that may be used for several purposes to cover a tooth that has:

  • Been damaged or weakened
  • A large cavity in it
  • Been treated with root canal therapy

Crowns are also used as an integral component of a dental implant. Dental implants replace the roots of missing teeth with a titanium post that is fused into the jaw, restoring the stability of the bone for full functioning. Once placed and bonded securely to the bone, a dental implant is topped with a dental crown.

Bridges

As the name implies, bridges replace a tooth or teeth that are missing by anchoring to teeth on either side of the gap.

Living Wellness Dental offer our patients aesthetically pleasing restorations, customized to each patient’s needs. Designing a new smile is possible. Crowns and bridges may be sent to our professional off-site laboratory for preparation or, thanks to our CEREC technology, ceramic crowns can be made immediately for same day restoration. CEREC is a computer aided design system that creates metal-free and appealing restorations. For more information about crowns, bridges, and other restorations, contact our friendly professionals at (587) 600-6935. Living Wellness Dental is located on 52nd Avenue NW, in Calgary.
